American Academy Phlebotomy Technicians d/b/a American Association of Phlebotomy Technicians (AAPT) offers an Intravenous Certificate course for allied healthcare providers {Certified Phlebotomist, LPN, RN, EMT}. This course presents the core skills required for the healthcare provider to become familiar with intravenous therapy. You must register 5 days before the start of class to complete the 7-hour CEUs. When you complete the CEUs you will receive a certificate, please bring it on the first day of class.
The training will include a review of the circulatory system, insertion procedure, techniques for proper and successful catheter insertions, care, assessment, and maintenance post-catheter insertion.
You will receive hands-on training in an I.V. lab and will be performing vein puncture and intravenous cannulation on life-like manikins. Upon completing this course, you will receive an Intravenous Certificate of completion.

IV Therapy Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Currently an Allied health professional (i.e. MAs, LPNs, RNs, Phlebotomists and Research Assistants)
Prerequisites
Workshops are open to AAPT’s active members and medical professionals with previous experience who provide a letter from their employer. The prior experience includes but is not limited to previously attending an AAPT-approved phlebotomy or nursing course.,
IV Therapy
Proof of health care training and certification including, but not limited to, nursing, phlebotomy, or EMT is required to attend this class.
