Professional Phlebotomy Certification
Requirements include HS graduation (or equivalent); and
Path 1. Graduation from an AAPT-approved Phlebotomy Technician program ; or
Path 2. One year of full-time employment (2080 hrs) or equivalent part-time employment as a Phlebotomy Technician.
Note: A letter from the employer documenting working experience is required for candidates seeking Path 2 qualifications.
The process of registering for this course will be under review by the school administration. Only those approved by the administration will be allowed to continue with the Phlebotomy Technician and/or Instructor courses.
Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT)
Provide selected nursing functions that include basic patient care such as bathing, feeding, catheter care. Patient Care Technicians also obtain EKG readings and monitor vital signs. They also perform phlebotomy procedures and have knowledge of basic IV therapy.
Healthcare professionals rely on Patient Care Technicians to assist with the important day-to-day care of patients. As a consequence, the diverse range of knowledge and skills that Patient Care Technicians possess are critical to healthcare.
Graduation from an AAPT-approved Patient Care Technician program

Certified Phlebotomy Instructor (CPI)
Must be a certified phlebotomist with an accredited certification agency, LPN or RN; and
1. A minimal of five years documented work experience in performing phlebotomy; and
2. A minimal of one year documented teaching experience; and
3. Submission of a detailed course outline and syllabus that must be approved by AAPT Advisory Board
4. A minimal of 60 college credits from a regionally accredited college. Unofficial transcripts accepted.
